Department of Education and Skills

Sweeney Architects were employed to complete a pilot study on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills which involved an infrastructure assessment and planning study of primary and postprimary schools, and other related facilities within Tuam, County Galway.

It was developed under four distinct headings, namely: a) A General Survey of existing School Facilities, b) An Options and Appraisal study of existing School Facilities c) An overview of Community Assets and d) School Location and the Development Plan. As part of the study, the following eight schools were surveyed and analysed in terms of facilities, location and traffic issues namely; Scoil Bhríde Convent Of Mercy; Presentation College; Archbishop McHale College; St. Jarlath's College; Gaelscoil Iarfhlatha; Presentation College National School; Scoil na mBraithre and Scoil Mhuire Primary School.
